Tucked away in Southwest Wisconsin’s Lafayette County, Rustic Road 66 is a 7.5-mile paved loop just off County W near Benton, cruising along Buncombe, Kennedy, Beebe, and Ensch roads. This ride takes you deep into the Driftless Area, where tree-lined roads wind through rolling hills, farms, and fields untouched by glaciers. In the fall, the colors here are next-level. Along Kennedy Road, you’ll spot an old abandoned lead mine with rusted ore buckets, tin shacks, and tailings — a nod to when this region cranked out 85% of the nation’s lead.
