Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues in Eau Claire

The towering Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox statues in Eau Claire’s Carson Park are iconic roadside Americana with a lumberjack twist. Originally installed in 1983 outside the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum, Paul stood 10 feet tall until vandals toppled him in 2002. Restored the same year, he stood proud until 2016, when a new 13.5-foot version by Kim Nessel replaced him. Babe, ever loyal, still stands beside the new Paul. Built by FAST Corporation in Sparta, these statues are perfect for stoner selfies and logging lore vibes—just another weird and wonderful Wisconsin photo op.
