Dartford Cemetery

Said to be haunted by restless spirits, the cemetery has been the site of numerous eerie encounters. Visitors report cold spots, shadowy figures, and even the sensation of being pushed or touched when no one is nearby. Some believe the ghost of Chief Highknocker, a Native American leader who drowned in the lake, still lingers in the area.

There is a large burl on an old oak tree at the eastern side of the cemetery that has a resemblance to a human face, some say is that of Chief Highknocker. Another part of the story reports that ghostly images of civil war era soldiers have been seen marching in the cemetery.
