Kinstone, a modern megalithic sculpture garden

Kinstone in Fountain City, Wisconsin—affectionately known as “Wisconsin’s Stonehenge”—is a 30-acre modern megalithic garden that fuses art, spirituality, and nature into a deeply transformative experience. Spread across a bluff-top overlooking the Mississippi River, this sacred site features towering standing stones (some reaching over 23 feet and weighing up to 35 tons), three stone circles, a seven-circuit labyrinth, and a dramatic dolmen capped with a 13-ton boulder.

Complementing the stonework are a thatched, cordwood Chapel of Creation, a straw-clay cabin, the Dragon’s Keep kiosk, and other natural buildings set amid blooming native prairie and food forests—crafted to echo ancient alignments on solstices and equinoxes.

Open daily from May 1 to October 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., (admission required), Kinstone invites you to wander mown grass paths at your own pace. Whether engaging in meditation, walking the Way of the Stones, or attending a seasonal ceremony, visitors often emerge feeling re-membered, renewed, and deeply connected to earth and sky.
