Lake Effect Books

We are a locally owned independent bookstore and gift shop located in Hurley, WI.  Our store focuses predominately on new releases for children, young readers, and grown-ups.  We can also order special requests.  Lake Effect Books features a growing collection of books by regional authors which explore history and living themes of Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Lake Effect also has locally hand-crafted gift items, many with a Northwoods focus.  We are easy to find–just a 1/2 block north of the Wisconsin Highway 51 downtown Hurley
