Fonferek’s Glen

Fonferek’s Glen is one of those low-key hidden gems that feels bigger than it is. A short walk from the parking area drops you into a rocky gorge carved into the Niagara Escarpment, where a 30-foot waterfall spills into a quiet creek below. The cliffs, stone arch, and wooded ravine give the whole place a secluded, almost prehistoric vibe that’s perfect for slowing down and soaking in nature. It’s small, simple, and not overly crowded — ideal for a mellow stop, photos, or a peaceful smoke-and-stroll. Winter is a standout season here: the falls freeze into a massive wall of ice, turning the glen into a crystal cave that’s absolutely worth the cold. Just watch your footing — terrain can be steep and slippery.
